Workshops

Today I made a decision to not teach anymore. I have written to all the workshop groups through 2012 and pulled my name. My health has been going down and I just had to make a call. My Drs said to remove stress to try help things so this was my first step. It is not easy as I have worked very hard to get to this point but I feel I had very little choice. I do not want to teach and not be able to give it my all. I just wanted you to know what was going on. I still will do the blog and I hope to continue to paint every day. But I will also now find time to take breaks and take care of myself. I know when one door closes another opens and I will prepare myself for what that next thing might be. Who knows...I just need to keep a positive attitude. Thanks for listening.

Jane, there are many ways to teach, not just in front of a group. You are teaching with each painting you post, with your explanations of your process, with your book and with your blog community. I will miss the opportunity to attend an in person workshop with you, but I'm delighted to be able to continue learning from you via your blog, etc. Please take good care of yourself and keep painting.

Thank you Violette. This is going to be a tough few days...but with friends like you I will be just fine in time...thank you so much.

I agree with Violetta, Jane. Your health must be your first priority. I know you will make the adjustment just fine.:)My own health is shaky so I know a bit of how you feel. Hang in there. Exciting things will come your way.

Hi Janie, Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. Violetta is right, I learn every time you post! I'm glad you're going to follow your Doc's advice. It's important. Take it from one who knows LOL!! I think it's really hard for us to slow down. We've been care givers and on the go no matter how we feel for most of our lives. It always seems to catch up! So make up your mind to slow things down and hopefully all will be well before you know it!!! Take care and if you need to blow off some steam, well, I'm always here!
Love ya,
Phyl

Dear Jane, I'm sorry you have had to pull back, but I do most certainly understand what stress can do. I think you will find that painting for yourself, and taking a step back once in a while will be very cathartic for you. Wishing you the very best. Will follow you where ever you go! ~J~

Hello Jane,
Becaus of the distance from the remote place in the Philippines, I wasn't able to reach even though I dreamed of it. This is my first post about you and your projects but I've been following your step by steps guide as you paint and post your artworks. I love watercolor and so your teachings. I wish you all the best and continue to work "art for an art sake".

That had to have been a tough decision to make. I wish you the best of health and hope that another door or window opens soon for you:)
