"Winter White Peony"
14 1/2" x 22"
Original Watercolor
Current Bid amount is: $1800.00 CLOSED
I am joining several artists to raise money for the Red Cross in Japan or a disaster group of our choice I have chosen ELCA Disaster Relief for Japan as it is volunteer and 100% will go to the people. As artists we do not always have money to dish out like we would like but we have our art and we are hoping to sell our art and donate 100% to this cause. I wish I could do more but this is what I have. By each of us doing our part we can make a difference.
My painting will be available for bids through March 20th. You can email me with your bid and I will keep that posted by the painting so every one knows where the bids are. Email me at Jane@janefreeman.com I will also ask for a small amount if the painting has to be shipped to far but otherwise I will try to cover all costs myself.
Bidding starts at $50.00.
For some reason my blog is not allowing the upload right now but I will keep trying. The painting is Winter White Peony and it was finished just this Feb.

Beautiful, reminds me of Barbara Buer's paintings.
Beautiful piece, I hope it draws a good figure for the cause!
Well I have several bids already. I just wish I knew how to advertise this better! If anyone has friends who buy art for good causes this would be it! ha!
I love this your painting.Going to re-post it, so hopefully more people will see it!
Thank you Tatiana! I need all the help I can get to get it out there to get more bids...I want to really send a nice check to the Red Cross from this!!! Thanks!
Beautiful piece of art! Serenity at its best!
Thank you YSL! I am getting some bidding on it so that is wonderful!
I am not an expert on the internet but perhaps you can publicize your auction on a large website like that of a large foundation or the red cross or medecins sans frontiere, a greater audience would see the auction. Just a thought.
I would like to bid $1,000.00, please.
Beautiful work as always:-)
Congratulations Jane, is the most beautiful watercolor I've seen about flowers, is so real, like a magnificent photo work, unsurpassed, a greeting.
Johan, I see there is no profile here for you so I need you to identify yourself to me so I can be assured this is a true bid. Thank you for such a gracious offer.
Thank you Johan! We have a good bid, it is now $1000!!! Oh happy day!!!

Thank you Lynne and Stephanie...
I just saw the auction last night. What a kind generous thing you all are doing. Just absolutely adore your painting and of course like everybody else would love to own it.
I was hoping to make more on it but am so grateful for the bids I have had!
I cannot believe that this went for $1800 which is exactly what I would normally sell a painting this size for!!! It was a bidding war and I sure wish I could have used a phone as it was a time lapse for the people to know...I am typing to two people! ha!!! So YIPEE! Japan gets $1800!!!
absolutely great!!!
Jane, this is an absolutely beautiful painting! So luminous! Yeah for Japan relief!
Thank you so much everyone! I delievered the check for $1800 yesterday and hope by next week my little contribution is helping to feed families in need.
Dear Jane,
I'm a watercolorist and children picture book illustrator in Sydney Australia, originally, from Japan. I saw your work through Iain's blog. I'd really, really appreciate your help on behalf of the Japanese suffering there.
You and your friends' activities prove people's good will and hope for a future. Thank you so much beyond language.
Best wishes, Sadami
Dear Jane,
Also, from a blog, other Japanese people ask me to tell special thnak-you to you and wonderful artists. One of them is a clay artist and victim of the disaster. She said, "Their activities encourage us and lift up my heart. Sadami, tell them so!"
Kind regards, Sadami
You are most welcome Sadami! I hope that what we have done will make some small difference...but it will take alot to recover...for now if we can bring food and help bring warm clothes and care for the children it is good...because greater jobs are ahead to rebuild...your people are amazing and will rebuild faster than many nations ever could because you as a people unite and take care of each other. A wonderful example for all of us.
Oh how wonderful to hear from another artist there! Thank you for relaying her message...we will keep them all in our prayers.
Dear Jane,
Oh, thank U for the kind reply. Jane, I found your work is actually a "finalist" for Flowers&Gardens run by International Artist magazine!! Congratulations and thank U again for your such wonderful and precious work offer.
Best wishes, Sadami
